Birmingham City Council
Have live traffic flow and journey time data across Birmingham City council at 5 minute intervals (based on UTMC), thanks to Open Transport Net (OTN) project. There is also live car parking data within the city centre, and automatically detection of traffic incidents (via Opticities project). Want to publish openly, and build on work already done through european funded projects. Need to understand priorities for use and application of this data, so that they can plan evolution of open source platform, and prioritise what data is published.
West Midlands Combined Authority

ITS-UK, Mobility as a Service group
Have knowledge of intelligent transport systems. Want to integrate this across all modes and forms of transport. Need to co-ordinate between traffic, transport, highways, teams to deliver joined up thinking of user need and end-to-end journeys, rather than individual technical specialisms.
ODI Birmingham
Have specialist open data knowledge in highways and transport, environment, health, at policy and operational levels. Want to share this knowledge and support startups, SME’s and established organisations to embrace more open culture, and prioritise the release of open data for specific purposes. Need strong network / funding base from which to operate.
Innovation Engine
Have large organisations with challenges to solve (incl. Amey and West Midlands Combined Authority), and research/skill organisations (universities) etc, Want to help SME’s connect in and design solutions for/with large organisations and research/skill organisations. Need knowledge of the challenges, skills and SME’s available to mix and match and create sustainable innovative solutions to real world challenges.
TransportAPI
Have access to most of UK public transport data incl. OSM road network with integrated public transport services e.g. bus routes for each vehicle journey, published on an open basis; Want to find new sources of transport data especially in highways to integrate with our existing platform to deliver on the promise of a true HighwaysAPI; Need a level playing field from public bodies with open data releases
Future Highways Forum
Have knowledge of highways sector. Want to/being forced to shift from technical / engineering focus to delivering user need. Need to envision requirements of highways in 20 years time, and map out changes required to achieve that.
